SEAMLESS ROAMING

For one in the nine people who owns a GSM mobile phone today, it's second nature to take one's phone when travelling abroad on business or pleasure. The superior and versatile roaming capability of GSM makes it convenient and easy to roam in other countries. GSM offers the mobile customer the world's first and only global wireless network and it is this technology which makes the seamless GSM mobile roaming service available in over 180 countries worldwide.

Upon arriving at their destinations, GSM users will be connected* within seconds of turning on their mobile phones. The home network operator (TSTT) searches for and connects to the visited network operator, e.g. Cingular in the USA or Vodafone in the UK, and then you begin to roam.

Signing Up

Getting set up for TSTT mpower International Roaming is easy. You will need either a Tri-band handset which operates mainly on the 900/1800/ 1900 MHz frequency or a Dual band 900/1800 MHz handset. At present, the 1900 MHz frequency is used in the US and the 900/1800 MHz frequency in Europe. TSTT operates on the 1800 MHz frequency. Also, TSTT International Roaming service must be activated on your mpower post-paid mobile account.

TSTT has roaming agreements with several operators around the world. To get more information and a list of the countries we have agreements with, go to the 'Mobile' link on this website and click on the "International Roaming Rates' section. To have the mpower roaming service activated on your SIM card, visit a TSTT Mobile Store or call 824-TSTT (8788). The request for activation is FREE and is only required once.

How will I be billed?

Roaming calls are billed in three segments: airtime, tolls and taxes. The total charge for each call will comprise all three segments. Charges are based on rates charged to TSTT by roaming partners; therefore prices are subject to change. Roamers will also be billed for incoming calls. Pick up an mpower International Roaming brochure or go to the 'Mobile' link on this website and click the 'International Roaming Rates' section for roaming rates.

Staying Connected

While fixed line telecommunications served its purpose for most of the century, the instant gratification and freedom to communicate whenever and wherever (at home or across borders, at the beach in Florida or from your hotel room in London) saves you time and brings communication so much closer to you, right at your fingertips.
