TSTT and Lisa Communications sign Interconnection Agreement

Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (TSTT) and Lisa Communications are pleased to announce the signing of an interconnection agreement between the two companies. The agreement for TSTT, builds on the company’s commitment to provide service to all operators within the newly liberalized telecommunications environment in Trinidad and Tobago.

Both companies successfully concluded negotiations covering capacity requirements, billing and rates for the provision of interconnection services. The interconnection rates agreed between the companies are reciprocal and the mobile termination rate is consistent with the range of rates for mobile termination set out by the arbitration panel established by the Telecommunications Authority in its decision of August 2006.

“We are extremely pleased to have concluded these arrangements with Lisa Communications within such a reasonable time frame” said Lisa Agard, Vice President, Legal and Regulatory at TSTT. “It is yet another step in demonstrating the company’s resolve to ensure that interconnection rates are set at levels that benefit consumers.”

Managing Director of Lisa Communications Jerry Chin Lee commented that the signing would ensure that the company continued to meet one of its primary objectives: “Since we started in 1992, we have maintained a single focus of delivering customer oriented services through strategic alliances within the telecommunications industry. This agreement is a most welcomed step for propelling Lisa Communications further as we look forward to expanding and enhancing our broadband internet and international service offerings to our customers.”

The agreement was signed on June 20th, 2007 at TSTT House, in Port of Spain.
