TSTT connects with Tobago Heritage Festival

Trinidad - THOUGH Trinidad & Tobago is one nation, the sister isle has a potent culture all its own, and this July that culture is enjoying its annual two-week celebration with some help from TSTT. The Tobago Heritage Festival – an extravaganza of the arts, food and special events – ends on August 1. “The bounty of the Tobago Heritage Festival is like manna from heaven for any true connoisseur of culture,” announced Ronald Celestine, TSTT’s Head of Tobago Operations at the opening night in Shaw Park. “Two jam-packed weeks of family-friendly activities that symbolise a profound sense of the harmony that we strive to maintain in Tobago between man and environment, between urban and rural, between modern and classical, between different communities and between various interest groups. That kind of rich diversity is one hallmark of a modern and enlightened society that in part accounts for why Tobago is the capital of Paradise.” TSTT has been involved with the festival for over 13 years. The telecom firm sponsors several events, including the opening night , “Pan Folk-o-Rama” and the Great Pirogue Race. Mr Celestine said, “TSTT is honoured to share this ongoing partnership with the Tobago Heritage Festival Committee and the Tobago House of Assembly in support of what really is a ground breaking celebration of the unique culture of Tobago. “ First staged in 1987, famed anthropologist and native son, Dr JD Elder is credited with conceptualising the event.
