TSTT makes it a “B Square” Christmas

Trinidad -

B Square – TSTT’s regular Carnival sponsorship event in Woodford Square – will now be enjoyed in another of the nation’s most popular seasons. Starting last Saturday and continuing on Friday 12 and 19th December, the musical event is now part of Trinidad and Tobago’s Christmas celebrations.

“Parang, steelpan, other musical artistes and of course calypso will be showcased,” said TSTT’s Camille Salandy, Head of Public Relations and External Affairs. “The theme and sound won’t be the same as the B Square Carnival, but it is still be a highly entertaining event that we are putting on free of charge for the people of Trinidad and Tobago.”

B Square Christmas is a collaborative event between TSTT, Port of Spain Mayor Murchison Brown and the Downtown Owners’ and Merchants’ Association (DOMA). It was launched in conjunction with the lighting of Woodford Square for the Christmas season.

The three night’s-worth of entertainment include both young talent and established artistes – among them junior parang and steelpan groups, soca artiste Sean Caruth, H20 Phlo and calypso icon Denyse Plummer.

“B Square Carnival is part of our contribution to the Carnival season,” Salandy explained. “This event is a Christmas gift to the nation itself. Everyone should come out and enjoy the music.”
