TSTT Corporate Communications
The Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating book fair, departed Trinidad and Tobago’s waters on January 26, leaving a significant and lasting impact on the local community. This unique vessel, operated by the German non-profit organization Gute Bücher für Alle Ships (meaning Good Books for All), brought over 5,000 books to local shores, offering a diverse selection for book lovers of all ages—from children’s literature to fiction, non-fiction, and religious texts. The visit marked the fourth time the Logos Hope has docked in Trinidad and Tobago.
bmobile, the leading communications solution provider in Trinidad and Tobago, played a critical role in the ship’s success. Through a seamless collaboration, bmobile’s Technology, Business and Consumer Sales teams ensured that Logos Hope’s crew and visitors were well-supported with the necessary connectivity. The team’s quick turnaround and technical expertise provided essential data services, ensuring the ship's operations ran smoothly throughout its stay, both in Trinidad and Tobago.
"bmobile is proud to support initiatives like the Logos Hope that foster knowledge and community engagement," said Anjanie Ramesar-Soom of the Corporate, Environmental, Social & Reputation Management team at bmobile. "Our technology played a pivotal role in powering the ship’s communications, helping the crew stay connected with their loved ones and ensuring smooth operations during their stay in Trinidad and Tobago. This partnership is a reflection of bmobile’s commitment to using our resources to empower and support the communities we serve."
The crew of Logos Hope expressed deep appreciation for bmobile’s support. "For essentially two months, bmobile has provided this connection and help bring forth our vision in Trinidad and Tobago," said Nicholas Dux, Technology Services Department Head on the Logos Hope. "I really appreciate them and the work that they’ve done."
The success of the visit was clear from the start, with around 900 visitors within the first 30 minutes of opening. The enthusiastic response demonstrated the deep connection between the people of Trinidad and Tobago and the ship’s mission, which is to "share knowledge, help, and hope with people around the world." This year’s visit to Trinidad and Tobago served as a reminder of the power of knowledge and its ability to connect people from all walks of life.
Logos Hope, launched in 2009, is the organization’s largest ship, housing a crew of 350 volunteers from over 65 different nationalities. With bmobile’s support, the ship’s mission was not only enhanced but made possible, bringing valuable resources and knowledge to the community.
