As small and medium enterprises (SMEs) continue to drive business activity in Trinidad and Tobago, bmobile Business has launched a new entrepreneurship series to help local businesses sharpen their strategy, improve visibility, and build for long-term growth.
The four-part “Power On Your Business” series debuted at the 2025 Trade & Investment Convention (TIC). It brought together entrepreneurs, creatives, and business advisors who delivered experience-driven insights on brand-building, content strategy, and business development.
“Entrepreneurship is a significant driver of economic growth, and supporting that ecosystem is central to our role as Trinidad and Tobago’s indigenous communications solutions provider,” said Darryl Duke, Assistant Vice President of Business Sales at TSTT. “At bmobile Business, our focus goes beyond connectivity and infrastructure; it is about helping local businesses access the tools, expertise, and networks they need not just to survive but thrive. This series wasn’t about selling products. It was about investing, showing up as a partner to the business community, offering support, and being of service for the greater good of Trinidad and Tobago.”
Each session featured speakers selected for their firsthand experience as entrepreneurs and business owners. Among them was Krista-Lee Lookit, CEO and Founder of That Lookit Brand, a marketing and media consultancy, and Chairperson of the TT Chamber’s NOVA Committee. “My session was geared towards engaging with SMEs on how to power their business with strategic marketing, content, connectivity and authenticity,” Krista-Lee shared. “I was able to offer attendees tools to grow their business and drive demand in a sustainable and long-term way.”
Lookit guided attendees through the process of defining a marketing strategy, developing standout content, and building meaningful engagement. The session drew such interest that it extended beyond the booth space — a sign, she noted, of the demand for hands-on support in this area.
Also presenting was Keegan Simon, Founder and Creative Director of 1ndividual Aesthetic, known for merging art, culture and commerce. In his session “Growing Your Business from the Ground Up,” Simon offered a candid look at the challenges of building a brand from scratch, from early design experiments to international expansion.
An ADDY Award-winning designer, Simon walked participants through key visual and verbal branding elements, including the importance of logo design, tone of voice, and messaging. He emphasized consistency and authenticity as the cornerstones of brand trust.
“Don’t spread yourself thin,” Simon told participants. “Go where your audience is and always remember to measure, adapt, and grow.” He also urged attendees to focus on building direct connections with their audience rather than depending on platforms where algorithms can shift overnight.
Matthew Chin, Account Executive at Media InSite, attended Simon’s session and noted both its clarity and impact. “Keegan’s session delivered a solid take on content creation and branding, and it was well suited to the format and time at TIC,” Chin said. “What stood out was the level of engagement. The setting encouraged open dialogue, with participants asking questions and exchanging ideas. From a media intelligence perspective, I also appreciated the emphasis on monitoring and measuring audience response and how your brand is being received across digital channels.”
Also featured were Shemeon Williams, Founder of Luvo Studio and Gregory Seale and Andre Williams of Athletes' House, who shared insights on brand development, creative entrepreneurship, and strategic positioning.
Over the two-day event, the bmobile Business booth became a space for discussion, collaboration, and peer learning. This effort reflects the brand’s ongoing commitment to entrepreneurship, from its long-standing support of YBTT’s Jumpstart Incubator Programme to its partnership with the IDB’s P.A.N Yard initiative earlier this year. As Trinidad and Tobago’s only indigenous, full-service communications solutions provider, bmobile is focused on being a partner to businesses of all sizes and sectors, helping them stay connected, competitive, and ready to beat the challenges ahead.
